Mo Goldner, guitarist and songwriter from Spanking Charlene rips a solo at CTS on August 8th. Mo is playing the Stonetree Guitars Roscoecaster through a Z-28 amp hand made by the folks at Dr. Z in Maple Heights Ohio. The Celestion Blue Alnico speaker is mic’ed by a Royer 121. You could hear the hi-fi glory of it all it the Quested monitors weren’t blasting away at the mic on my iPhone.

Nice place, great staff, Stumptown coffee, big back yard. The owner barters with some floral designer that keeps it all looking great in there all the time. We have our faves when we order. The burger is good, the reuben variation is really great too. They had a bacon and avacado salad called the “Big Bad Wolf” that was up there in the top 3 for quite some time. Today when we came in we were greeted with a new menu and “Steak Salad” jumped out at both Timbo and I.
Rabbithole, we at Cowboy Technical Services Recording RIg salute you!

As of about 5pm today we got everything going again. More room and more of our favorite gear, including guitars and amps, that was in storage, our original Steve Keene racks and a new custom rack built for us by Studio Constructions in Nashville. Greg-0, Timbo and Mario did a lot of work. I did some pointing.

Those are Greg-O’s talented soldering hands

The camera shy Greg-O installing some gear

Timbo enjoying his new tabletop.

Mario poses for his new Facebook profile picture.

E pointing

Revamped Guitar and Amp room.

And the result of a few days of detailing.
Ben got to town on Monday evening and we introduced him to his NYC rhythm section just before he played a gig at the Lakeside Lounge. On the doghouse bass we had Skip Ward and playing drums was Sammy Merendino. The Lakeside gig was a perfect rehearsal for the sessions. We cut 9 tunes on Tues. with the band then another 5 solo on Wed. We also had time to hit Diner on Broadway in the shadow of Gretsch Building #4. Ben plays a Gretsch so he was excited to find out that Cowboy Technical resides in the building that was once Gretsch Building #1. Tim, Mario and I had a great time with Ben and look forward to mixing these great tracks.
